You probably have heard that MTV Music Television is coming to campus
October 17, noon-5 p.m. at the McKenzie Arena.

While this provides an opportunity for campus fun for students, there
are some important logistical matters for faculty, staff, and
students to remember.

Beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, traffic on Mabel
Street from Fourth Street to Douglas Street will be restricted to
incoming campus traffic only. At 9:30 a.m., Mabel Street from Douglas
to Fourth will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Mabel Street will
reopen to traffic at 8 p.m. (or earlier if possible).

During the day, traffic and parking in the Arena area could be
congested. Your patience is appreciated. The Mocs Express shuttle
will be operating until 5:30 p.m. and parking will be available at
Engel Stadium.

The MTV Homecoming Tailgate Party is open to the public from noon- 5
p.m. This event is not affiliated with UTC Homecoming, which is
November 1-2.

Thanks.

Below is the news release issued by MTV outlining the activities:

You've seen MTV Spring Break. Now come see how to tailgate!! Come
have fun and get some of the free merchandise.
