I thank all who have contributed to the discussion about the lottery in
Tennessee. I am deciding how to vote on this issue and I appreciate the
information and exchange of ideas.

As to using Raven for such discussions, I find it odd that in this free
democratic society in which we live, there is often an unwritten rule that
we are not to discuss debatable topics. While people who are advocating
their own positions may be pushy, wrong, off-the-wall or--worst of all--not
in agreement with our own opinions, that's the price we pay for free
thinking in a free society. And as I've said before, what's a university
for, anyway? Long live political discussions on Raven!
