WASHINGTON (Sept. 10) - On the eve of the Sept. 11 anniversary, the Bush
administration decided Tuesday to raise the terror alert level for the first
time from taupe to ecru, signaling an "enormous danger of attack," up from
the "immense danger of attack" level that the code had remained at since it
was first put into action, a government official told The Saturday Evening
Post.
