Dr. Doug Kutz, Ben Gross Professor of Chemistry, has received
$2,250 from the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation for the second year of
the Jean Dreyfus Boissevain Undergraduate Scholarship for Excellence in
Chemistry. This scholarship enables an undergraduate chemistry major to
participate in two summers of scholarly research in the UTC Chemistry
Department.

This scholarship, which was established in 1993 for the Foundation’s late
president, encourages undergraduates in the formative stages of their
education to choose careers in the chemical sciences. This scholarship is
awarded to universities identified by the Board of Directors of the Dreyfus
Foundation as being accomplished in chemical sciences. All recipients
including UTC, are recent recipients of awards in the Foundation’s
Teacher-scholar, New Faculty, Faculty Start-up, Postdoctoral
Program in Environmental Chemistry, or Scholar/Fellow programs.

Plese join in commending Dr. Kutz and the Chemistry Department on the
recognition of excellence that comes with this scholarship.
