The first event in the 2002-2003 Faculty Concerts series will be
presented tonight, September 20, at 8:00 in the Roland Hayes Concert
Hall. Clint Schmitt, saxophone, and David Walters, piano, will be
featured in a recital that is open to the public.
Professors Schmitt and Walters are members of the faculties of the
Music Department and the Cadek Conservatory. Schmitt has performed
with the Boston Pops Orchcestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony, and the
John Philip Sousa Band. He was a soloist with the Chattanooga
Symphony, performing Glazunov's Saxophone Concerto. Walters is
well-known regionally as both a classical and a jazz artist. His jazz
trio performs frequently throught the region.
The program begins at 8:00 p.m. There is no admission charge, and
tickets are not required.
