Colleagues,

I am pleased to invite you to the Chemistry department for a seminar this
Friday, Sept. 20th. The speaker is Dr. Nadja Cech of the University of
North Carolina-Greensboro and the title of her talk is

"Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS): Fundamentals and
Application to the Study of Medicinal Plant Chemistry"

ESI-MS is an important analytical technique for the analysis of large and
small biological molecules, most of which tend to be relatively fragile
species. The "soft" ionization capabilities of ESI are particularly well
suited for study of their structures. Detailed structural studies are
often the first step in designing new medicines.

Please join us at 12:00 in Grote 420 to hear about Dr. Cech's latest research.

Enjoy!
Steve
