Neighborhoods USA (NUSA) has announced that it will accept proposals for
presentations for NUSA’s 28th annual conference to be held in Chattanooga.
NUSA is a grassroots non-profit organization that is dedicated to enhancing
the sustainability of healthy neighborhoods by addressing issues and policies
that affect these neighborhoods. The deadline for proposals is October 1,
2002.
The conference offers workshops on ten different topics including:
· Getting Our House in Order (Physical Revitalization)
· Taking It to the Bank (Community Economic Development)
· Amazing Grace (Faith-based Neighborhood Development)
· Beyond the 3 R’s (Education)
· Renewing the Spirit (Personal and Community Renewal)
· Technohoods (Technology)
The Future is Now (Youth)
· It’s a Thing of Beauty (Arts and Culture)
· And Still We Rise (Community Organizing and Organizational Development).
The workshops are 1 ˝ hours in length and a 15-minute question and answer
period is requested. Selected presenters will be notified by October 15 and
must confirm, in writing, their attendance and agreement to present at the
NUSA 2003 Conference. The workshops will be held May 22 and 23, 2003.
