Maybe this can supplant the Carly bashing thread?  (shame on you <forgotten>
for your flame bait)

Is there some magic way to tell MPE to really treat COMMENT as a comment?
ie don't mess with it and certainly don't interpret it?  It wouldn't be so
bad if it didn't cause errors.
