Fellow HP e3000'ers:

At HPW I am presenting information at a tutorial session
on moving cobol/image to Linux using open source. This
information is also pertinent for those interested in
migrating to hp-ux using the same open source components.

I am offering to compile pre-submitted questions with
answers for handouts at HPW and for posting on our web
site (after HPW). If you have a question you would like to ask with
regard to what we have learned in working with open source
cobol and databases on Linux please direct it to
[log in to unmask] with a subject of 'HP World - 2002'.

And for those fellow cobol fans who are interested, we have
built a small web page that details some benchmarks between
hp cobol on various mpe systems and the Fujitsu NetCOBOL for
Linux compiler. You can access this page by pointing your
favorite browser at: http://qwebs.qss.com/cobdata.html

For those who are not aware, the qwebs site is powered by
an mpe cobol web server that doesn't require posix :-)

Note to those who haven't registered for HPW'02: check out the
conference sessions at www.interex.org There is a ton of good
stuff for migration and for getting your skills up to date.
Highly recommended, but of course I am biased :-)
