The first thing you'll need is a serial-capable EIO card in the printer. In
this era of networked devices, this is virtually always an optional,
extra-charge device nowadays. Talk to whoever you purchased the printer from,
or look on the back of the printer yourself and see if there's a DB-9 or
DB-25 connector on the card.

However, that's also the last thing you'll need if you hook it up to your
DTC, other than a proper cable. If the port on the DTC is already configured
to be a printer port, you should instantly be in business and cooking with
high-grade, catalytically-cracked petroleum distillate as soon as you plug
the printer to the DTC port.
