Ms. Sandy Cole of UTC's Center for Community Career Education has received
$33,171
from the Southeast Tennessee Workforce Investment Board and Youth Council
for an extension of the Youth Mentoring and Career Services program.

The Center for Community Career Education will be able to continue this
important program which provides career-focused mentoring to students in
the Hamilton County School System. The program serves students aged 14-21
years old, and it offers participants activities to help them prepare for
the workforce, stay in school, and locate employment.  This extended
funding underscores what an important difference this program has made in
the lives of Hamilton County students.  This program furthers the goals of
UTC's Center for Community Career Education by breaking down the barriers
to education and employment that many local students face.
