Dr. Deborah McAllister, UC Foundation Associate Professor, recently
received $4,726
from NASA to attend a NOVA Phase III Field Center Workshop.
Dr. McAllister and Dan Chase, a Web Development Specialist at UTC, attended
the NOVA
Field Center program earlier this summer at the NASA Ames Research Center
in Mountain View, California. The program dealt with strategies for
developing WebQuests. A WebQuest is a process of finding answers to
questions on the Web in the most time efficient way, with a focus on
applying the information rather than blindly searching for it. Dr.
McAllister and Mr. Chase are developing WebQuests for use with pre-service
teachers. The knowledge they gained at this workshop will enrich competency
on the Web for pre-service teachers as well as the students whom they will
be teaching.
Congratulations to Dr. McAllister!
