Very interesting narrative, even if I do find it hard to believe. The
springs in Florida, including Ginnie, are sources of some of the purest
fresh water anywhere. Fresh water is a not a good conductor of electricity.
I find it difficult to believe that a lightening strike passed through
almost 100 feet of ground and fresh water, to shock these divers, that they
did not mention confirmation of lightening strikes by those on the surface
(Ginnie is quite popular) and that they were shocked without knowing, beyond
any doubt that they had been. In my experience, electric shock is very
distinctive. When you get one, you know it.
On the other hand, I can't come up with a logical alternative, assuming of
course, that it was not a well written piece of fiction.
