Hi Chip :)
Welllll.... my first thot is "What is running in the night that is
creating the file?

I would tend to think if it is not a job that is creating the file...
then you have either file demons or gremlins :) hehehe :) not fairies!

Art "it's way toooooo early for this! Hehe" Bahrs

Subject: [HP3000-L] Purgelink And The Cheshire File

Hi y'all,

I am chasing a mystery and was looking for some suggestions
as to where else to search.

For the last three mornings I have "successfully" used
PURGELINK to remove an opened MPE file only to have
it mysteriously reappear the next morning. It seems
to be the exact same file since all characteristics are
the same even to having the same create date. This
is the pattern...

PURGELINK FILE.GROUP
(no messages back so seems ok)

LISTF FILE.GROUP
(file not found)

LISTFILE /ACCT/GROUP/FILE
(file not found)

I go home.

Next morning...

LISTF FILE.GROUP
(voila! itssss baaaack)

PURGELINK FILE.GROUP
(no messages back so seems ok)

LISTF FILE.GROUP
(file not found)

LISTFILE /ACCT/GROUP/FILE
(file not found)

Is my system really being visited by file fairies during
the night or is there something less mystical to consider?

TIA,
Chip Dorman
