Please note that the cited article quotes the "Weekly World News" as its
source for this story. In view of that fact, I think we can safely assume
that Rev. Peasboro is a fictional character. For those of you who are not
familiar with the WWW, it is a tabloid that routinely carries stories such
as "I gave birth to an alien" or "Noted psychic's head explodes." I once
heard that the publisher of this fine journal was sued for a false story,
and testified in court that the stories in WWW are for entertainment only,
and that "Everyone knows they aren't true." I don't know whether the tale
of this court testimony is a true story, but you can rest assured that any
resemblance between a WWW story and the truth is purely coincidental.
By the way, I recommend the Weekly World News. It is usually good for lots
of laughs.

In more hot news on demon-possessed computers front, it appears that it's
not
only Macintoshes that are possessed, but PCs as well. One minister claims
that a startling 10% of all PCs are possessed by a demonic spirit, but only
in those PCs built after 1985. Only those machines are large enough to
completely hold the spirit of a demon. For more information see:

While you might tend to dismiss these people as just wackos, personally I'm
pleased to see that they've found somebody else to bother other than
evolutionary biologists and cosmologists.
However the reverend does recommend that if your PC is possessed -- and is
still under warranty -- that you return it to the point of purchase and have
the technicians change out the hard drive and reinstall all of the software.
That will completely exorcise the wicked spirit.
By chance, that's exactly the same advice I give some our customers when
they
report really screwy problems too with their PCs.
