Eloquence is multi platform -- could it be possible you've downloaded a
version that doesn't match your OS or hardware?  [such as the HP-UX version
and trying to install it on an Intel 'linux' system -- HP-UX would, of
course, use PA-RISC instructions instead of i386 instructions]  although if
you got enough of it to run to prompt you for where/how to install, I would
presume you're running a version that matches your hardware & OS
