Russ,

One why to do this is to use Suprtool on both boxes. You can use it to
extract data (and possible manipulate it, if needed) from the Image
database, use ftp to transport it over on to the 9000, and then use Suprtool
to import it into your HPEloquence database.

Thanx,
        Jon

Subject: [HP3000-L] Migrating data from MPE to HPUX

HP3000L,

Okay, so assume you have taken your platform independentish code from your
development group on your trusty 9X9 box, opened FTP.ARPA.SYS and sent it to
the 9000 e_series you have been using as a bookshelf, and after some
annoying work in vi, managed to recompile it.

Further assume, you have built a database in HPEloquence on said 9000, and
are ready to put some real data (read: more than a few records) into it.
The last time I checked HPUX didn't have a port of the compatibility mode
RESTORE command.

How the heck do I get my data from the HP3000 to the HP9000?

Yes, I'll be attending seminars on migration on Monday and Tuesday at
HPWorld, but I'd like to know if anyone else has already done this, and if
so, how?

Fargin, friggin, muggin, flurbin, peanut-shaped migration.

Thanks,
Rs~

Russ Smith
