Can't ya just (with the appropriate Routers/VPN's/Firewalls/NAT's an
such things) define a Network Printer in the NPCONFIG file, IOCONF
create the new device, and SPOOLER nnn;START

What is IPP?, and does MPE really need it?

Just curious,

Hello all,

I have a client who wants to print over the internet from one location
to
another (from the HP3000 to a networked printer at a remote location).

I vaguely remember something called IPP that is supposed to allow
printers
to do this? Is that the only way to do it? Do all printers understand
IPP?

My understanding is that they do not want to transfer the spoolfile from
the
HP3000 at the home office to the other location, since the other
location
does not have a HP3000.
