There isn't a way to tell from within the Telnet protocol. The NS/VT
protocol has a field in the connection header that allows different
emulators to distinguish themselves. (This also distinguishes between
NS/VT coming from a PC and NS/VT coming from another HP3000.)
But an emulator can lie, too, so even the NS/VT solution isn't completely
accurate.
