The problem isn't with adding a drive to the system volume set, it's with
losing the system volume set information that was stored on LDEV 2 before it
went bad. Unfortunately, you'll have to rebuild your system volume set
using either the factory SLT/FOS/Subsys/etc or your custom SLT (CSLT)
created in Sysgen. Then you can restore your data and be back at square
one.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Need SLT tape to add disk to system volume set?

Had LDEV 2 problem. HP replaced the drive. Now they say we need a SLT tape
to add the drive to the system volume set. Do we? If we are willing to
lose all
the data and do a complete reload then can't we just create a new SLT tape?

Isn't there a method to add a drive to the system volume set without an SLT
tape?
