I don't think one should consider the /ACT/GRP/FILENAME structure as a
3-levelled hierarchy, MPE-namespace-named files doesn't live in a
hierarchy - they can only be found in a group, which can only be found
in an account. this structure, however, has been 'incorporated' in the
posix-hfs as parts of the hfs hierarchy, so that MPE-files can be
found/created using hfs syntax.

yes, since 4.5 the traditional MPE filesystem is a subset of the hfs,
and you should have lots of them. but the hierarchy for that file is
definitely not something like /ACT/GRP/FILENAME, it could be either one
of
/ACT/GRP/dir/file
/ACT/dir1/dir2/file
/dir1/dir2/dir3/file

there should be something in the help-system, try reading about
filenames/filesets in ':help listfile all' or ':help store all'. and,
of course, the web knows all, jazz.external.hp.com probably has
something on posix and hfs.
