Although it may be declasse to change the subject of an off-topic thread, but
the shuttle astronauts have been training here in the Las Cruces/El
Paso/White Sands area for about 20 years now, and they too have two Grumman
Gulfstreams to play with, although the older II version. However, theirs are
modified to fly, with a flip of a switch, like a rock, emulating the flight
characteristics of the shuttle.

The astronauts practice touch-and-go, shuttle-like landings at Northrup Field
at White Sands. The picture below is from a German web site, commemorating
the beginning of the flights:

They still fly these missions virtually every week.
