Thanks everyone for all the info.
We were able to get the first vendor to work by adding an entry in
hosts.net.sys, but it is set to a hard coded ip. We don't want to setup
name resolution yet, but that may happen.
Luckily, their host is listening on port 21, but my question is still
applicable for other sites. If a host is listening on a port other than 21,
how do I control that on my end? The example, connect to 1.2.3.4 port 5,
instead of 1.2.3.4 port 21. I tried using the colon on the ip directly from
the ftp call and got a connection refusal message.
