However, Jesus stated in various places in the New Testament that the
Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath (or was that the other way
around - I'm no biblical scholar, much to my dismay).  At any rate, his
point was that while the Sabbath was a day of rest, it was OK to do REQUIRED
work (such as rescuing a lamb from a well, to use another example).
