Pete is right, Debian is a bugger to install, but what a dream to keep up
to date.  A new one called Gentoo has some real promise as well.

As far as OpenOffice and StarOffice, they are ok but I've never heard
anyone say they used them because they liked them, they use them because
they were free.  They are just so damn slow and fairly non-intuitive, but
overall they do a solid job.
