John (both) and Connie - thanks for the info! On the robustness of the HP -
we only went to the PA system with Y2K - we had a venerable Series 42 that
served us well right to the end.

Perhaps HP should have marketed the 3000 the same way Maytag does; ie, "The
lonely repairman".

I am still learning about MPE/ix (hey, better late than never!) and thank
you all for helping me here.

This list really is great - and has a huge pool of talent that most lists
lack - Thank You!
