The School of Nursing has been awarded a total of $320,959 from the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services/Health Resources and Services
Administration.  These funds will be used to fund "Scholarships for
Disadvantaged Students" in the baccalaureate and graduate Nursing programs
during the academic year of 2002-2003.

The scholarship program is under the direction of Dr. Dana Wertenberger.
These scholarships cover tuition, fees and related attendance expenses for
disadvantaged and minority students wishing to pursue education in the
field of nursing.

We congratulate Dr. Wertenberger and the School of Nursing for its efforts
to promote and expand opportunities for disadvantaged students.
