Duane is correct. The slide has nothing to do with
support. It has to do with sales.

If you look at the entire slide and not just the one
blurb, you'll see that the context of the slide is to
discuss what to do when you need additional resource
after the end of sales of the e3000 on 10/31/2003. If
you further examine the slide, you'll see the
following right above the blurb in question:

"issues addressed / decisions made since november
announcement

new support contracts will be written after 2003

A- and N-Class conversion kits available through 2006"

This means that HP has addressed some issues and made
some changes based on customer feedback since 11/14.
For example, they extended the sales of A- and N-class
conversion kits beyond the original 2003 date. Now,
the NEXT item on the slide points out some sales(not
support) issues that will "likely not be able to
address". It says NOTHING about support. And,
because the sales force cannot sell it (even due to
availablity), does not mean the support group cannot
support it. Maybe one of the reasons the sales force
has no parts to sell is because support is ensuring
the ability to honor their customers' support
contracts by keeping a reasonable amount of product
out of the sales force's hands and into the support
group's inventory.
