Is it really hung or is it waiting for some kind of I/O to complete?

What application is the session inside right now?

May I suggest going into DBUTIL (as the creator of your data bases) and see
what locks are being held by this session? The Dbutil command is:

SHOW dbname ALL
(then EXIT to get out)
