With Samba 2.0.10 installed, you should be able to use...
Shell/iX: man -M /ORG/SAMBA/v2.0.10/man smb.conf
Not sure if this will work on a system that does not have
at least GNU groff (from the GNU core package) installed.
There used to be a missing "ts" program on plain FOS that
prevented to view anything but the FOS bundled man pages.
Oh, and with Samba 2.0.10 installed, you could also enable
the SWAT Samba Web Admin Tool in INETDCNF and then surf to
it via http://your3000:901 -- besides being a GUI got the
smb.conf file with handy hyperlinks to the HTML-ized version
of the man pages, it also has an online copy of an O'Reilly
book on Samba. Very nice documentation material.
