We have an external DLT4000 and TWO DLT7000s on our 979-400 running MPE/iX 6.0pp2.
They work great. The only thing we had to be careful with was the SCSI cards, because of other SCSI devices we had. You cannot have two on the same card, I think. We've had this for so long, my memory fails me on it. You'll also have to address the firmware and compression issues. Again, we have had these for so long, I don't remember the particulars.

Hi,

We need to install a DLT4000 on a HP e3000 929-020 running MPE/iX 6.5 .

I have been offered a second-hand A3590A but I can't find any information
anywhere on HP-3000L or www.hp.com re. the possible e3000 support for
this external DLT.

Has anyone experience with this DLT-device? If possible, configuration
details will be much appreciated too.

I know that HP also has (or rather had) the products A3635A, C6382A and
C36380A - all should be DLT4000s - but I can't tell the difference between
these models...?

TIA!

With kind regards,

Hans
