We use lots of these on 6.0 and 7.0 systems although they are *officially*
not supported on A/N class servers.

Device ID = DLT4000 configured like any other scsi device. The advantage
of the DLT4000 over 7000 and 8000 DLT's is you can boot from it. Problem is
you can't buy them anymore.

Subject: Support for DLT4000 A3590A on HP e3000?

Hi,

We need to install a DLT4000 on a HP e3000 929-020 running MPE/iX 6.5 .

I have been offered a second-hand A3590A but I can't find any information
anywhere on HP-3000L or www.hp.com re. the possible e3000 support for
this external DLT.

Has anyone experience with this DLT-device? If possible, configuration
details will be much appreciated too.

I know that HP also has (or rather had) the products A3635A, C6382A and
C36380A - all should be DLT4000s - but I can't tell the difference between
these models...?

TIA!

With kind regards,

Hans
