Hi Ed,

I can't comment on the capabilities of the camera u/w since I don't
know your expectations.

I can however confirm that the internal flash will actually do less
than squat for you u/w, even in near-perfect conditions. These things
are not powerful enough in almost all conditions and will give you
clouds of backscatter (and red eye) because they're way too close to
the lens.
