Cecil,
I didn't elimininate our 2647A from business use (LMCO Metrology Lab) until
probably 1989 or 1990, when I finally integrated those functions into our
business system on (look out!) an HP1000 A900. I had previously obsoleted
business software from HP85s, HP87s, HP9807s, and about every other
IEEE-488 enabled contoller HP ever built. Later started converting this to
HP3000/Speedware, which was the custom at the time. Recognition to Bryan
Hahn who took over the conversion effort until I returned as a contractor
and helped finish it up.
great fun was had writing an error-correcting file transfer program pair to
get data files off the HP85 and onto the HP1000 (easier than getting the
HP1000 to read HP85 floppies.)
