Yes.

He did not lie to you before.  We tried to get IA-64 to work for
the 3000.  We had staffing and plans in place.  Our blip of
good sales disappeared and we lost the funding and business case
to continue with the project.  Once you realize you cannot bring
MPE to IA-64 most all hope is lost.
