For that $134 million dollars, HP could write the MPE emulator in Java.
Those MPE users wishing for 3k-ish transaction performance (or any
performance at all) would require a terahertz processor and terabyte-scale
memory, not to mention the personality chip available only from HP. Problem
solved.
