I haven't done the research for awhile, but we found that the N-Class machines, even at the lowest tier, were prohibitive [but I certainly would support the increase in speed for the N-Class machines as well].

The A-Class machines have the advantage of having much lower upgrade fees--the total cost of the machine would come out as about a wash over all (at least from the 929KS) and I had figured that it would actually pay for itself in about 18 months or less.

If HP were to beef up the A-Class, and every thing else were kept equal, we might look to an upgrade.

As it is, except for the printers we buy, we no longer have HP for a vendor:  We are using third party support for both hardware and software, saving lots of bucks, and there isn't a snowball's chance in a blast furnace that we would ever be tempted in any way to look at HP-UX.

However, if the HP - Compaq merger occurs, we might be buying HP PC's and servers; I would point out that the only hurdle left is the shareholder vote--the Europeans approved it, in spite of predictions last year on this forum that they would not.
