just a follow-up...

it turned out that i had an account (that just happened to be the last
(alphabetically) one on the system) where someone managed to do a setcatalog to
an hfs file!  i've got *no* idea how this happened....but that's what was
causing buldacct to blow chunks.  with many thanks to denis at hp, the problem
has been fixed and buldacct is happy again.  thanks to all on the list who
offered their help too :-)             - d
