Honestly.....and please excuse the fact that I am new.....
Let them merge.....as long as I can get a hold of someone at 800-633-3600 I
am a happy camper...

Frankly taking Compaq out of the market and leavening HP as one of the big
players might not be so bad....there is hardly any money in hardware
anymore. The money is in recurring service contracts....and its been my
experience that HP is heads above Dell, Compaq, IBM and Cisco when it comes
to service.

Hello?  I was running around doing errands today and just glanced at my
mail... Once again I have the nice monthly Dell marketing brochure in my
mail...  Dell is a far more serious competitive threat to HP and/or Compaq
than IBM is.  Other than providing Dell with a fatter, slower moving target,
how the merger helps in the competitive PC world I don't know.
