If you have done everything suggested so far and you still can't get the console to respond do the following:
1. Sign on another terminal as SM or OP.
2. Type CONSOLE !HPLDEVIN
3. Wait 15 minutes.
By the time 15 minutes has passed either MPE has passed control to your terminal or you are well and truly locked up. If control has passed
then you should find the console responds now. You may pass control back to the console or do whatever you want without fear of it locking
up again (provided you followed the suggestions from the other people regarding normal/service, asterisk in remote mode and one I did not
see mentioned, using control-D to reset the console to 9600,8,N,1).
Why this works I don't know. That would take an explanation from someone more knowledgable in MPE internals than me. Anybody care to
explain?
