Please join the Office of Grants and Program Review in recognizing the
English Department faculty for their diligent work in preparing for the
department's 5-year academic program review and for their dedication to
teaching excellence at UTC.

Dr. David Haney, the external reviewer who was on campus 2 days to assess
the program, commended the English faculty for their "superior
student-faculty connection and superior teaching."  Specifically, he
pointed to the faculty's dedication to students, accessibility, close
mentoring, and their rigor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dr. Haney also recognized the faculty for their strong connections to the
community through in-service workshops for teachers, writing conferences,
and dramatic performance.

Congratulations to the department for a very productive and outstanding
review.  Great work by all involved!
