        Interesting idea.  Maybe a new company, oh I don't know - let's call it
OpenMPE, could spring forward and carry on the battle with IBM as they try
to invade our community.

I don't know about that, it looks very one sided to me.

If HP wanted to keep MPE users and have them move to HP-UX (or
HP Secure Linux, or HP whatever), HP would provide a simple,
smooth and cheap migration path that covered most all languages
and just require a recompile, or just minor changes, in short
a full application MPE emulation enviornment that would work for
most users, but they haven't.  Instead, it appears that HP opened
the door and are pushing MPE users out of it to go anywhere, as
long as it's not MPE.
