Richard, I must consider that a MAJOR MIRACLE has occurred,
and it's the BEST NEWS I've heard for quite a while!!

Unbelievable!  I saw him at the ICU (with Carolyn and Byron) the
day before he was moved to the private room, and I saw him the
next day in his regular room.

There were already SOME signs of recovery, but I was very
cautiously optimistic fearing that might be just his body reacting
to having SOME of the support removed.

But this latest news is really welcome!   I'll have to go see it to
believe it tomorrow.   :-)

I am reading your email over two hours after it had been sent.  Since none
of this news has appeared in Scuba-SE yet, I hope (and pretty sure you
won't) you don't mind if I pass on some of what you said to the group in
which he has so many friends in the sport he loves.  That should liven up
a pretty quiet LIST for the past couple of days.
