1) If you run MAPPER, and it says there is a tape drive on a path;

2) and SYSGEN says there is a tape drive also on the same path;

3) and SHOWDEV says that device is AVAIL;

4) but when you load a tape it never says that a tape is loaded on LDEV #.

5) If you attempt to use it, it says that it is NOT READY;

6) then if you do an ABORTIO, it says it is LOADED (but still not ready.)
