I think you're reading it wrong; Carly isn't saying  what *she* wants
customers to do.

She's telling HP's senior management the things which customers are
telling *her* (or her focus groups at least) that they, HP's customers,
need help with from HP, to satisfy, in turn, the customers' customers.
