I agree with David. While it has been a while since I used Minisoft ODBC I
think it was quite efficient. I used ODBC/se for a while and I remember that
sometimes it would use a serial read instead of a chained read, and on a
data set with over 2 million records it would take forever. I would double
check what way the data is being accessed. If I remember correctly Minisoft
was very flexible and could be configured to help solve the problem.
