This is quite true - the zebra isn't going to merely make a barcode of any
text you send, and it isn't going to interpret HP PCL. However, when I
bought Zebras last, they cam with label design software. You could visually
design the label you want, send the resulting Zebra code to a flat file and
with a few deft strokes of your editor convert it into a program.

If I may merge a couple of topics...
If your just trying to print labels, I seem to remember that the Zebra
label printers
have their own mini language and ignore any other data.
It would require changing your program to send zebra language.
