Dare I say anything about that wonderful H1B program that is supposed to be
"helping" us with the great "shortage" of technical talent here in the USA?
On my last consulting project I had two very nice guys working on an HP-3000
COBOL application who were both H1B visa employees of some sort of an
employment agency. While I liked these two individuals and their work was
fine, I kept wondering how the H1B program could apply to the HP-3000 MPE
world. I find that I work about 50% of the time as an HP-3000 consultant due
to the shortage of work.
