I have watched this, and similar, threads with a heavy heart but
thought it inappropriate to put in my bit.

I agree with Lee. "WE" are, or should be, in a caretaker situation.
Whilst I certainly agree with Chuck that the present Charter is
inappropriate I do not think that this is the time to change it.
Whilst ever Senor Jeeeef was our mentor he seemed to think that no
change was needed, or did not bother to make it/them (IIRC he made
some tentative comments, could be wrong, which were not acted upon by
us). Maybe that is why no change was made, who knows.

I've never met him and the only time I've "talked" to him was when I
unsubbed about six months ago. I have always thought of him as a
gentleman, the fact that I've never managed to physically shake his
hand is quite immaterial.

Please, Chuck, this is ABSOLUTELY no reflection on you. The mere fact
that you took on this job reflects on your "bravery". ;)
