I wrote exactly ONE WEEK ago, about Jeff's condition:

RF> No news is Good News.

after I had seen Jeff the day before, after he had just been moved
out of the ICU into a regular room; and the day before that when
I saw him at the ICU. The situation looked REALLY grim.

That's why I consider the news I got from Richard (Jeff's boss),
not too long ago that I didn't read until now, nothing short of
a MAJOR miracle, in progress!

Richard said Jeff was able to sit up for a short while and actually
ate regular food TODAY, for the first time since he entered the
hospital emergency room on January 1! Richard went on to say

> He cannot talk due the ventilator and is still very weak.
> The bad news is that he will need a liver transplant to
> really recover. The good news is it looks like he will be
> able to get strong enough to be able to receive a transplant.

Richard also said,

> We will be taking him an AlphaSmart keyboard and with it he will
> be able to communicate more easily.

I can't wait to see Jeff's first post in Scuba-SE this year! :-)
Actually, I don't even know what an AlphaSmart keyboard is, but I'll
be visiting Jeff tomorrow for sure, since I'll be off this weekend
(again <G> to Chicagah) and won't be back till next Tuesday.

If any of you catch this news in time and have something for me to
relay to Jeff (in print or by voice), do so publicly (Scuba-SE) OR
email me privately (to [log in to unmask] -- DON'T use the Yahoo
address for email. I seldom ever use it and don't use it even for
this posting :-))

I'll beat Viv to saying, "Hallelujah!" this time. :-)
